  • Husky, Retriever
  • Spayed/Neutered
  • Up-to-date with routine shots
Embur is an adorable, loving, husky mix female. We estimate her to be under 2 years old. She is extremely sociable and friendly with humans. She needs proper introduction with other dogs but loves to play and gets along if this is done correctly. She has a heavy prey drive so would not be good as a farm animal and would probably not do well with cats Embur LOVES to go for rides in the vehicle! She is calm and polite while doing so. Embur was not cared for properly or wanted in her previous situation and we are ready for her to end up in her forever home where she will be loved and appreciated as she deserves. Embur is fully vetted which includes spay, heart worm test and heartworm prevention, micro chipped and registered for life, vaccine and flea and tick prevention. For more information please contact Embur's foster home by e-mail kfuhr60@gmail.com or text 573-586-1307

  • Beagle
  • Spayed/Neutered
This little guy's name is Mischief. He is a beagle about 8 months old mostly white with some brown and tan coloring. He's pretty skittish at the moment, but his foster mom is working very hard to get him to come out of his shell. He didn't have much socialization with people up until now, so understandably he is scared. Mischief is ready to find his new home where his new family would give him the same understanding that his foster family is giving him in order for him to reach his full potential. He's been around numerous other dogs since he was born and he gets along fine with them. We're not too sure on how he would do with a cat though. Mischief is in a foster home right now, so if you'd like to visit with him, please get in contact with his foster family by calling or texting 417-718-5721. You could also email jenzme@ymail.com. Mischief is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, on flea and tick preventative, and has been dewormed. Adoption donation of $120 will help offset the costs for his vetting.

Meet Precious she is one of a very large group of dog's was rescued. Precious was quiet sick when she came to us and on top of that she was also pregnant, she had a large litter but only 9 puppies were strong enough, and are now healthy beautiful grown pups. After Precious was done nursing and caring for her pups we had to start treatment for heart worms, sadly she was heart worm positive. Treatment was completed in October and she now is healthy. Precious had severe fur loss it has grown back quiet well, but she still has a very thin under coat. Precious is pretty shy and does best with a good daily routine, she will need a fenced in yard, she is house broken, does not like to walk on a leash at all but we are practicing, she loves toys and chewing on hoofs, she has done well with all dogs in my house and also does not mind my cat. She would do best in a quiet home without to many people, she seems to prefer ladies. She loves treats, she is quiet fun to watch when she plays with other dogs, and would benefit from playmates. Precious is approx 2 to 3 years old, spaniel setter mix and right around 35 lbs. She loves snacks and now might have a few lbs to many. Precious is spayed, up to date on vaccine, she is micro chipped and registered for life, she is on heart worm prevention and on flea and tick treatment, her vet gave her a clean bill of health in October. Adoption Donation is $120 to offset some of her vet cost. For more information on Precious please contact her FOSTER HOME at 573-528-1978 or email marion.clausen.cottrell@gmail.com

Likely due to her past, she is a bit standoffish with strangers but warms up quickly when she is approached with kindness. . Dutch .
 . Dutch . . Dutch . . Dutch .
  • Pointer, Setter
  • Spayed/Neutered
Dutch Gender: Male Age/DOB: 14 mo; Born: Apr 2017 Weight: 45 pounds Color: White and Black Breed: Pointer / Setter Mix Good with Children: Never been around children Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Unknown; cats in the area Medical: He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative tested, and up-to-date on vaccinations. He seems to be very healthy. History / Behavior: Dutch is a beautiful Pointer / Setter mix (pictures don’t do him justice) from a large-scale rescue situation where he lived outside in a covered pen since about 12 weeks old about only human contact was when being fed or talked to. He was initially petrified of being touched and would tremor and hide. He has come a long way in a couple of months with minimal interaction and no longer fears being touched by the couple people the work with him regularly and not too concerned with strangers. But he will need patience to learn about life with a family and things such as appliance noises, baths, TV or radio sounds, etc. He would be considered a flight risk if he got loose since he probably cannot be caught unless cornered. Though he has made much progress, it could take weeks or months for him to fully trust. The key has been to allow these dogs to come around as they feel more comfortable. Activity Level: Seems to be relatively high energy. Leash trained: Initially he had to be carried step by step, but now is good on leash / harness. He is very inquisitive and loves his walks so will pull quite a bit so recommend a good no-pull type harness to discourage the pulling. He may try to pull away if he is startled but generally does not on a normal walk. Definitely recommend a martingale collar at a minimum. House trained: Doggie door trained; adopter will have to be willing to train via gentle correction for him to get on a schedule if no doggie door. If he has accidents in the house, you have to clean up and move on. He is very gentle-natured and scolding will set him back, weeks if not months. Recommend using male wraps until he has an understanding of acceptable behavior in a house since he has had no in-home experience yet. He sleeps well at night in a crate. Fence: A fence is usually best for a dog and their family and a requirement for him since it will take him some time to acclimate to a new situation and he does love to run especially if some woods. Some of the dogs will not come in the house if they see their person near the door so have to prop the door open and get out of sight to get them to come inside. POC Comments: He is ready to be adopted to someone who understands his history and that he may always have trust issues, but I feel confident he will acclimate in a relatively short amount of time and be a blessing to the right family. At this point, I feel the best thing for him is to be in his forever home where he can learn about life as a pet and family member. He’s been in the car a few times and does okay but is not a real fan of riding. It will be very beneficial to have a confident dog in the home. He will learn from them much quicker and gain more confidence and trust by just observing the other dog. He will readily take treats out of my hand and from others. He has not been around children but I feel he would do well with children who understand how to approach and be still around him. He is looking for a family with lots of patience and understanding. He is the way he is due to his living situation. It’s not his fault and is asking someone to look beyond any issues to the dog he can become with love and attention. Dutch is a beautiful, young pointer mix. He will bark out of fear but is not aggressive. He enjoys his foster mom's attention. He has learned to walk on a harness and leash. He has quite a way to go and will require a rescue-minded, experienced, patient owner. His adoption donation of $120.00 covers vetting, including vaccinations, microchip with lifetime registration, deworming, negative heartworm test and heartworm prevention. Contact this animals foster mom at petfinder.pchs@gmail.com or text or leave a message at 573-512-2102. Applications are available on our main Petfinder page www.petfinder.com/shelters/MO529.html. • Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler

  • Up-to-date with routine shots
  • Prefers home without small kids
Ruger has had a very rough past. When he came to us, he had to be hospitalized immediately: He had two gun shot wounds to his head, and one through the chest. He barely pulled through, and due to this we cannot blame him for being cautious with people he does not know. He is about 1-1.5 years old, seems to be a purebred Blue Heeler. He needs a very special family who will work with him through his trust issues with strangers. He will bond with his family, but will get defensive quickly if strangers approach too quickly. For this reason, we are looking for a home without children for him. If you are interested in Ruger, please email us at lovingpawsadoptioncenter@gmail.com. His adoption fee of $120 includes neuter, negative heartworm test, microchip, flea and tick prevention and dewormer. He is currently in a foster home and meet and greets can be scheduled at your convenience!

 . Mason .
 . Mason .
  • Chocolate Labrador Retriever, Labrador Retriever
Mason was found as a stray in very rough shape. She has an injured back leg, and she is emaciated. A kind family took her in and is now fostering her through our organization. She is currently in no condition to undergo surgery, but her great blood test results give us hope that she will get better! She has not lost her will to live, she is very food motivated and craves attention and affection from people. We are hoping to find her a place to live the good life, and are willing to negotiate the adoption fee for the right home. We truly just want to see her happy! She did not deserve to be abandoned at her age, and with an injury that could have probably been repaired, had it been addressed right away. Will you be Mason's hero? If you are interested in Mason, please call 573-736-2088 or email lovingpawsadoptioncenter@gmail.com
